First Birthday Party #2

We celebrated Charlie's b'day again at Overton Park with some friends and family.

He has gotten pretty good at the smash cake!

Kingsley and Matt look like naturals!

So thankful to see the Jackson family!

We've missed the Flippos!

Can't believe my baby is one. Time really does go by so quickly. So thankful for this healthy baby boy. He is calm, yet adventurous like his daddy and stubborn like his mama. He is hilarious, daring, loving, sweet, curious, and absolutely precious. This has been the best year of my life. He makes my heart so happy. Here's to a life full of health and happiness!

First Birthday Party #1

We had such a special time celebrating Charlie's first birthday at Grammy's house by the pool.
Lisa made Charlie a train birthday cake like her grandmother use to make with them. It turned out so cute and delicious!

Sweet Maggy was such a great helper!

Charlie loves to scoot off of the edge of the pool.

Masen made huge splashes and helped Dylan peg me in the head with the bouncy balls a few times :)

 First smash cake experience...

 I think he liked it!

Maggy and Lala pulled Charlie all around the pool in his new wagon from Aunt Wendy and Uncle Chris.

He even rode the wagon inside to show Grammy!

Charlie had so much fun playing in his new cozy coupe. The box was pretty exciting too!

Thanks Lala and Grump for a fun party, awesome box, and a COZY COUPE!!

5 Year Anniversary and B'ham Randoms

David and I celebrated 5 years of marriage August 23rd. We decided to go out to eat and catch a movie. There are so many wonderful restaurants in Birmingham that we still have not tried. We didn't want too fancy, so we made a list of places, tore them into strips, wadded them up, then drew our destination. Do Di Yo's it was.
As we pulled into the parking lot of Do Di Yo's, I had second thoughts. We were pushing it with time anyways (you know I'm always late), so we decided to grab Sam's Deli and have a sunset picnic at Vulcan, our reception site 5 years ago.
We ate our greasy gyros, fries, and gatorades as the sun set over the Magic City. It was perfect. We rode the elevator to the top of the statue and I teeter-totted along the see-through platform, only walking on the support beams. David was kind of shocked at how bad my fear of heights has become. I assured him, it's really not that bad. It's only this bad when we're on a platform that you can see straight down to the ground and anytime I have to look over the edge. I was terrified, but thought I hid it well. I was wrong.
We had such a fun evening, despite my fear of heights!
