5 Year Anniversary and B'ham Randoms

David and I celebrated 5 years of marriage August 23rd. We decided to go out to eat and catch a movie. There are so many wonderful restaurants in Birmingham that we still have not tried. We didn't want too fancy, so we made a list of places, tore them into strips, wadded them up, then drew our destination. Do Di Yo's it was.
As we pulled into the parking lot of Do Di Yo's, I had second thoughts. We were pushing it with time anyways (you know I'm always late), so we decided to grab Sam's Deli and have a sunset picnic at Vulcan, our reception site 5 years ago.
We ate our greasy gyros, fries, and gatorades as the sun set over the Magic City. It was perfect. We rode the elevator to the top of the statue and I teeter-totted along the see-through platform, only walking on the support beams. David was kind of shocked at how bad my fear of heights has become. I assured him, it's really not that bad. It's only this bad when we're on a platform that you can see straight down to the ground and anytime I have to look over the edge. I was terrified, but thought I hid it well. I was wrong.
We had such a fun evening, despite my fear of heights!
