Charlie's first Christmas was perfect!
We had a wonderful time visiting David's family in Bay Minette.
Then we headed to the big salty...
Oh, magic city, I've missed you...
As soon as we arrived, we had to get some Christmas shopping done! Charlie and I hung out in the car at some places that were extra crowded.
We went to Grammy's house for the Dees/Melvin/Fullilove annual Dirty Santa swap game. It was relatively tame this year!

On Christmas Eve, Aunt Becca captured this sweet moment:
Christmas morning we had our usual Christmas morning breakfast, my favorite meal of the year!
And we wore our matching pjs, of course:
Next, we went to the Higgs' house for late Christmas lunch. Aunt Dawn and Uncle Jay just finished remodeling their historic home in Forest Park and it is unbelievable. Aunt Dawn gave us a tour and I was blown away! She paid attention to every detail imaginable, which is why she does this for a living! I'm absolutely in love with their master suite. Of all the beautiful marble, thick trim and molding, unique built-ins, window dressings, light fixtures, and hardware, David's favorite was the glass shower doors. They were pretty awesome, but I thought that was pretty funny. Next time I come home, I'll have to get pictures and post for all to see. Absolutely gorgeous.
Charlie enjoyed visiting with the cousins at the kids' table. Yes, I'm president of the kids' table, mom, and no, I don't plan on ever committing treason making the transition. Mom tried to sabotage the kids' table several times, trying to coax innocent children to join the adult table. Didn't work.
We had so much fun with the Higgs, Gigi, Aunt Becca, and Mamu!
Charlie loves Christmas!
After visiting, Charlie was exhausted!
Charlie got a second wind and played with Lala before bed. He has become so much more active and attentive!
On our last day in B'ham, we visited Mom (Gigi). It was nice being able to spend uninterrupted time with her. The holidays were so nice to visit with everyone, but we hardly got one on one time!
I miss home, but we've enjoyed getting back on schedule and having pretty lazy peaceful days. Thank you to our families for making Charlie's first Christmas so memorable.
